The XIII district of Budapest does not have a common name, it consists of Angyalföld, Göncz Árpád city centre, Újlipótváros, Vizafogó and the southern part of Népsziget. The Lőportárdűlő is a former part of the city, located in the area of today's Angyalföld. The area was mainly the site of military installations built in the 1960s, before a housing estate was built on the site in the 1970s and 1980s.
The development of the XIIIth district coincided with the rapid growth of Hungarian industry and Budapest, and has undergone a radical transformation over the last quarter of a century.
